TripIt Travel Organizer for Android gets Facelift

TripIt is my go-to mobile app for organizing all my travel info. It works like this – Once I get a confirmation email for my travel plans (airline, hotel, car rental, etc.), I can forward the email to Plans@TripIt.com and the service will organize my plans in a neat and easy to read itinerary for me to view online or via mobile app. I can also manually add travel info like conferences, meetings, etc. to TripIt for even more travel detail.

The itinerary is populated with all of the necessary information about my trip like confirmation numbers, phone numbers for company, dates, and times, etc. and makes it easy to view, especially if need to quickly reference any information while on the go. If you’re using an Android device, TripIt has undergone a facelift that makes it easier to browse your different itineraries and adds checking rewards capabilities if you opt for TripIt Pro.

The new update cuts out all the screen tapping that you had to do when switching between multiple itineraries. File size has been reduced as well, which should make for an overall smoother user experience. Finally, Google sign-in capabilities have been resurrected for TripIt. In other words, you don’t need a separate TripIt login – You can now use either your Google or Google Apps account.

If you’re a super-traveler and you want to get the most out of TripIt, signing up for a Pro account ($49/year), lets you track your travel rewards points and remove ads. TripIt Pro also monitors your flights for potential airfare savings, and sends you status alerts and other helpful reminders while you’re traveling.

TripIt has a full-fledged website, a mobile-friendly site, and can also be used as a native app for iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, and Android devices. So check it out and let us know what you think in the comments section.
