Math-inspired dance moves, ukelele recordings, bedroom monologues, these are some of videos the comprise the average 24 hours of video that get uploaded to Youtube every minute. Some of these videos are slickly produced and edited. Others have a homemade quality. They are also college applications. St. Mary’s College of Maryland officially started accepting video essays as part of their undergraduate applications in the Fall of 2008. George Mason and Tufts soon followed their move.
