WTF! What the FaceBook? Tips to disable their facial recognition!

In my Jimmy Fallon voice “Thank You, FaceBook for once again showing me just how vulnerable we really are & how much you really care”

Lookit, before you jump on me and say I’m FaceBook bashing, I’m not! I actually think the new facial recognition feature is a good idea for those of you who upload a lot of photos, especially group shots but the execution is absolutely horrible! The biggest concern of mine is that FaceBbook AGAIN LAUNCHES A FEATURE WE HAVE TO OPT-OUT OF, NOT OPT-IN! I have more to say, which I’ll save for another post as this post is about how to disable the feature, so here are the steps:

How to Disable the Facebook Facial Recognition Feature:

1. Log onto your Facebook profile and click on “Account” in the upper right hand corner.

2. From the drop down menu, click on “Privacy Settings.”

3. Click on “Custom.” At the bottom of the Custom menu, click on “Customize Settings.”

4. Scroll down to the “Things others share” section to “Suggest photos of me to friends.” Click “Edit Settings.”

5. You should get a pop-up window that says “Photos: Suggest Tags.” It will be enabled by default. Click on the drop-down menu and select “Disabled” to turn off the facial recognition tool. Click OK and your setting will be saved.

Do us a favor to get the word out and “like” or tweet this post so others can find out about this issue and make their own decision to keep or disable the feature!
